How do ABC News programs, both on broadcast television and in the streaming space, fare among different audiences and how can they do better?
Our team works across the ABC News organization to understand these questions and more through a combination of measurement reporting using quantitative methodologies! If selected for this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Research.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in New York, NY from January 2026-June 2026.
This internship, supporting the ABC News Consumer Insights team, explores the attitudes and behaviors that contribute to news viewership as well as reporting on that viewership across platforms.
Assisting the Senior Manager and Managers on projects specific to ABC News programs and properties
Aiding in quantitative research: utilizing software to generate data, data analysis, report-making, and presentations for clients
Assisting in creating and maintaining ratings reports & analysis on a regular basis
Monitoring several sources of syndicated research and synthesizing digestible reports for ABC News partners
Cultivating insights on different audience groups across various demographics and diverse audiences to advise viewer growth strategies
Helping to create a set of templates to aid in data visualization and presentations
A strong passion for understanding the motivations and behaviors related to news viewership
Experience creating aesthetically pleasing Excel, PowerPoint and Word documents, as well as emails
Strong attention to detail and ability to prepare analyses under critical deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong time management and organization skills
A strong interest in News and Entertainment programs
Familiarity with Tableau, or similar data visualization/analysis tools
Previous experience in an analytical field, preferably in news and/or media
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Communications, Statistics, Research, Marketing, or a related major is preferred
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in New York, NY from January 2026-June 2026.
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
Fully available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, NY area.
Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work in the New York, NY area.

The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.50 per hour.
