LaSalle Network has partnered with private equity firm focused on investing in lower middle market companies across diverse industries in the Midwest. Their team is committed to driving operational improvements and creating long-term value for our portfolio companies.

Our client is seeking a motivated and analytically sharp Private Equity Analyst with 1-3 years of experience to join their investment team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background within investment banking, private equity, transaction or deal advisory. 
This role will be flexibly hybrid in the office, budgeted up to a base of $100,000 with additional bonus opportunities and potential carried interest. 

Private Equity Analyst Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive financial due diligence on potential investment targets
• Develop detailed financial models and investment recommendations
• Perform industry and market research to identify potential investment opportunities
• Assist in preparing investment committee materials and presentations
• Support portfolio company monitoring and performance analysis
• Collaborate with deal teams to evaluate potential acquisitions and strategic initiatives
• Analyze company financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections
• Assist in preparing investment memos and transaction documents
• Participate in management meetings and due diligence site visits

Private Equity Analyst Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 1+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or private equity
• Strong financial modeling and Excel skills
• Proficiency in financial analysis and valuation techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Advanced Excel skills

• Experience with financial modeling
• Familiarity with PowerPoint and presentation preparation
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Knowledge of valuation methodologies

• Prior experience in Midwest-based private equity or investment firms
• Strong network in the Chicago business community
• Experience with add-on acquisition strategies
• Familiarity with lower middle market investments
