Sweet Mary's Bakery in Downtown Akron, OH is looking to hire one part-time to full-time experienced Baker to assist the lead baker in our morning bake, prep doughs, frostings, and ideally, this person would also be able to assist our head decorator in decorating our sugar cookies.
Must be available 25+ hours/week: early mornings (6am), most weekdays and at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday). No nights.
Experience baking in a commercial kitchen is REQUIRED to be considered. Prior decorating experience is also required. We will train on our techniques and recipes, but we are looking for applicants with some existing experience in from-scratch baking, following specific recipes and methods in yeasted doughs, cakes, custards, pies, laminated pastries and other confections (macarons, pate a choux, etc). Though prior commercial experience is required, we are excited to invest in the right candidate who has a general versatility, baking knowledge and willingness to learn. A pastry degree would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
