1. Contract Position Title: Catholic Music Accompanist – Whiteman AFB, Missouri
2. Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible to the chaplain of the Catholic Community Worship Service of Whiteman AFB, MO. Work with the Catholic chaplain in interpreting and preparing policies and procedures applicable to the total Catholic music program. Work with the chaplain in providing music accompaniment applicable to the Catholic music program. Advise him on all areas of the Catholic music program management.
3. Education and Experience Requirements:
3.1 Shall have knowledge of seasonal religious music and able to select appropriate selections.
3.2 Music in line with the church calendar. Shall be familiar with Catholic music and able to sight-read music.
3.4 Shall be knowledgeable/experience in understanding musical accompaniment.
3.5 Shall have the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Must become an active member of the Whiteman AFB Catholic Congregation.
4. Duties and Responsibilities:
4.1 The musician is not an employee of the government, but an independent musician who is solely responsible for the details and means by which the program described in this performance work statement is carried out. As a self-employed person, the musician is responsible for filing all necessary employment (e.g., FICA) and income tax forms and making any necessary tax payments and must comply with all Federal, State, and local laws and requirements and Air Force Instructions that apply to this position. The Air Force is indemnified from any liability for the duration of this contract by the musician.
4.2 Services shall be provided 1100-1200 on Sundays with one practice per week
to provide accompaniment. Additional services and rehearsals are to be provided for the holy days of obligation.
4.3 Coordinate all musical accompaniment and support requests with the Catholic Chaplain or his designee assigned to the worship service.
4.4 Coordinate and provide music accompaniment services for special worship services and choir performances (cantatas, etc.,) not to exceed eight special services and eight special rehearsals.
4.5 Musician will coordinate all services performed, as defined in this performance work statement, with the Catholic Chaplain or his designee in charge of the worship service, or in his absence, the senior faith or wing chaplain. The chaplain in charge of the worship service will certify all services provided by the musician.
4.6 Musician is responsible for providing a substitute for in case of absence. The substitute will be responsible to perform in accordance with the performance work statement. If/when the musician is unable to perform contracted duties, he/she will provide at least one week's advance notice of a substitute. Any substitute must be approved as suitable by the Wing Chaplain and Catholic Chaplain.
4.7 Musician will have access to all musical instruments and equipment necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined. Musician will have access to the main sanctuary for practices, rehearsals, etc. and shall submit a facility request to ensure required space is reserved.
4.9 Musician shall be accountable for security and cleanliness of all facilities utilized in conjunction with their programs. The musician shall coordinate support requirements with the Catholic Chaplain or a designated representative.
4.10 The Musician shall ensure that all facilities are used properly and secured upon departure following the conclusion of the program/event.
4.11 Background checks: In accordance with the requirements of the DOD Instruction 1402.5, Criminal History Background Checks of Individuals in Child Care Services, the Service Provider shall submit all requirements (fingerprints, biographical data, background information, etc.) necessary for completion of national, state, and local law enforcement agency background checks. Questionable data obtained as a result of the background check may be grounds for termination of the agreement.
4.12 Musician shall receive fingerprinting prior to contract being awarded and will be interviewed by the Wing Chaplain prior to award.
4.13 Musician shall ensure all volunteers working with youth below eighteen (18) years of age receive a background check as described in DoDI 1402.5, Criminal History Background Checks on Individuals in Child Care Services
