Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This position requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with a focus on main area of the president of Savannah State College.

Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM $20 hour

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in designated areas.
• Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and polishing to ensure floors are well-maintained and presentable.
• Carry out custodial duties in various settings including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts to promote a clean environment.
• Support residential painting projects as required, contributing to the overall upkeep of the facilities.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure all cleaning schedules are met efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any needs for replenishment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and maintenance is advantageous.
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
