We're looking for candidates to join a leading commercial fleet company in Tigard is seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join their busy operation. This role focuses on repair and testing of diesel trucks-ranging from sprinter vans and box trucks to heavy-duty semi-trucks. The site serves both rental fleet vehicles and customer-owned trucks, creating a dynamic environment with a variety of mechanical challenges.


As part of a supportive and professional team, you will play a key role in maintaining vehicle performance and safety through skilled diagnostics and advanced repair work. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced diesel mechanics or recent graduates of diesel technology programs looking to gain hands-on experience in a real-world environment.


Job Duties:

• Diagnose, repair, and test diesel engines and components across a wide range of truck types and brands Perform advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, including:
  
• • Engine rebuilds
  • Head gasket replacements
  • Transmission repairs and replacements
  • Electrical system diagnostics and repairs
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of work orders
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with capabilities beyond basic maintenance
• Proficiency with advanced diagnostics and repairs (electrical, engine, transmission, etc.)
• Must own your own set of tools
• Training or certification from a diesel technology program (graduates welcome to apply)
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with vehicle systems including:

• • Preventative maintenance
  • Heavy-duty electrical systems
  • Tire and wheel service
  • Air and hydraulic brake systems
  • HVAC/AC repair
  • OEM engine diagnostics (online systems)
  • SBT Basics, Core, and Advanced training
