Position Title: Firefighter/EMT-Paramedic (Position No. 4.127)
The Temple Terrace Fire Department is seeking candidates for the positions of Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/Paramedic.

Salary Information:
Range: $60,674.39 - $90,933.75 annually
Includes $7,500 Paramedic incentive
Additional incentive pay of up to $4,600 annually

Department Overview:
Established in 1925, the Temple Terrace Fire Department provides both Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) transport services. The department operates out of two fire stations and responds to approximately 4,500 calls annually. It is staffed by 57 career administrative and operational personnel divided among three shifts. The department is internationally accredited by the CFAI since 2006 and holds an ISO Class 1 rating.
City Overview:
Temple Terrace is a 7.5-square-mile planned golf course community located in northeast Hillsborough County, serving a population of 27,000. The city provides mutual aid to Tampa and Hillsborough County and centers around the historic Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club, established in 1925.
Job Requirements:
Age: Must be at least 18 years old
Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required
Education: High school diploma or GED
Driver's License: Valid Florida driver's license required
Language: Must be able to read and speak English
Vision: Must meet NFPA 1582 requirements
Preferred Education: College education preferred
Certifications:
State of Florida Firefighter I/II Certification
State of Florida Paramedic and/or EMT Certification (Paramedic license required within 2 years of employment)
Tobacco-Free Requirement: Must be tobacco-free for one year before appointment and throughout employment (affidavit required).
Disqualifiers:
Criminal History: Background check conducted before hire
Driving Record: Driver's license verification required
Drug-Free Workplace: Pre-employment drug screening required
Minimum Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of firefighting and rescue methods, first aid, CPR, ACLS, and emergency medical techniques
Familiarity with firefighting tools, search and rescue equipment, and fire behavior
Ability to communicate clearly orally, in writing, and through hand signals
Capability to perform physically demanding tasks under hazardous conditions
Ability to operate firefighting and rescue equipment and interact effectively with people in various situations
