Job Description

Baird Holm is seeking a part-time Legal Courier to join our team processes incoming and outgoing mail. This position also provides routine filing, sorting and delivery of mail according to established system, and performs firm delivery services outside the office on a regular basis. Must have own vehicle (will be reimbursed mileage), valid insurance and good driving record. Hours are 11:30am to 6pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sorts and delivers incoming mail and interoffice mail; posts outgoing U.S. mail.
• Provides timely hand delivery and pick-up service of envelopes, packages and/or court documents.
• Provides general office maintenance as requested by Manager of Office Services/Facilities.
• Assists with coordination of small moves.
• Assists with set up of Conference Rooms.
• Assists with Conference Room clean up daily, as needed.
• Delivers U.S. Mail daily to the main Post Office.
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years previous relevant experience.

SKILLS and ABILITIES DESIRED:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
• Personable with a positive customer service attitude and professional demeanor.
• Knowledge of US Postal regulations along with other methods and vendors available for package delivery such as Federal Express, UPS, etc.
• High degree of confidentially and judgment needed
• Basic proficiency with use of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and other software programs used by the Firm.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, plan work activities and use time efficiently.
• Works both independently and in a team environment.
• Notary public for the State of Nebraska - will work with someone to attain.
• MUST provide reliable automobile, valid driver's license and proof of minimum insurance requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Professional office environment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to walk a distance of four blocks.
• Stooping and reaching may be necessary when performing duties.
• Position requires ability to move around the office freely, mobile for a majority of his/her day, often carrying items and/or pushing a cart.
• Position requires regular daily attendance and arrival to office on time.
