Job Summary
Under general direction of the Assistant Director of Human Resources, the incumbent is responsible for the management and oversight of the Organizational Performance Management Unit and the Talent Development Division.

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of the Cal OES strategic plan and the workforce and succession plans, and various professional development programs.
  • Build a cohesive team with responsibility for agency strategic planning and the professional development of Cal OES staff. 
  • Provide advice to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Executive staff on strategies and issues surrounding these areas of expertise.

Working Conditions

Hybrid Telework: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.

Conflict of Interest (COI): This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
