We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to join a high-impact, enterprise-wide cloud migration initiative. This role is ideal for a hands-on data visualization expert with a strong engineering mindset and a passion for empowering business users through data.
Youll be responsible for designing and developing complex, performance-optimized dashboards in Power BI, migrating legacy reports (SSRS, Business Objects) to Power BI, and guiding business usersmany of whom are new to Power BItoward self-service reporting. This a 6-12 month contract reporting onsite at the Irvine, CA location ideally 3 days per week.
- Design and develop advanced Power BI dashboards with a focus on performance and usability.
- Lead the migration of reports from SSRS, Business Objects, and Tableau to Power BI.
- Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable data models and visualizations.
- Educate and mentor business users on Power BI best practices to promote self-sufficiency.
- Propose and implement data modeling strategies to support dashboard development.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure data readiness and performance optimization.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and approachable manner.

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience, with a portfolio of complex dashboards.
Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques.
Experience with Tableau and ability to assist in transitioning users from Tableau to Power BI.
Familiarity with SSRS, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or Alteryx is a plus.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to teach the business how to fish.
Experience working with business users of varying technical skill levels.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, enterprise environment. null
