Job Description

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time Product Development Intern in Hunt Valley, MD located at 24 Schilling Rd .  This is a 10-week internship (June 1st, 2026 - August 7th, 2026) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Pay Range: $20 - $22

RESPONSIBILITIES:

With supervision from their manager, the intern will work alongside McCormick employees on daily product development activities along with undertaking their own focused project. The project will be decided upon by the manager prior the start of the internship and the intern is responsible for presenting their results to the team at the end of the summer. Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Includes sample preparation, testing, and data gathering.
  • Provide support to internal product and process development teams with hands-on assistance and project guidance
  • Collaborate with other scientists and technologists to deliver  ad hoc project results in a timely manner
  • Prototype formulation, technology research and competitive product benchmarking
  • Cross train with other McCormick departments that align with the Intern’s interests including (but not limited to): Sensory Science, Process Development, Test Kitchen, and Culinary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate college Junior or Senior, or a graduate student in a relevant academic program. 
  • Relevant Academic programs to include Food Science, Culinary Science, Nutrition Science or other science.
  • Grade point average overall minimum of 3.0
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment is required
  • Experience working in a laboratory or kitchen environment preferred
  • Ability to perform data analysis preferred
  • Prior exposure to and/or familiarity with food science concepts preferred
  • Beginner cooking skills required; Intermediate cooking skills preferred
  • Ability to work independently, learn new tasks, solve problems, and show strong self-motivation and initiative
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills, handling details
