It is designed to free up NRCS staff for emergency and high-priority responses, not to replace federal staff.This role helps ensure continued progress on conservation planning, practice implementation, and technical assistance, especially in high-demand or disaster-affected areas. OR BA/BS Degree in Natural Resources,Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPointDuties:This position provides technical and program support to promote and increase Dam Safety for NRCS assisted dams throughout Kentucky. The Resource Conservationist will be supervised by the NRCS Kentucky State Conservation Engineer and will work closely with NRCS assisted dam Sponsors, which include Watershed Conservancy Districts, Conservation Districts, and other Municipalities throughout Kentucky. The Resource Conservationist shall possess a practical knowledge of the NRCS Watershed Rehabilitation Program, the roles and responsibilities regarding Operation Maintenance of NRCS assisted dams, NRCS assisted dam Sponsors, and landscape scale natural resource concerns.
