A dynamic new dining concept within an edgy new hotel in the heart of Silicon Valley is seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant General Manager . This role is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving financial success. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a commitment to service excellence, staff development, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Lead the restaurant team with enthusiasm and a guest-first mindset to deliver memorable dining and bar experiences.
  • Foster a service-oriented culture, ensuring every guest leaves eager to return.
  • Encourage team members to engage with guests, enhancing service through personal interactions.
  • Monitor and support staff in exceeding sales and service goals with passion and enthusiasm.
  • Set clear service objectives and align the team to meet measurable performance standards.
  • Ensure optimal staffing levels to maintain seamless operations and outstanding service.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends to maintain a competitive edge.

Financial Performance & KPI Management

  • Drive financial results by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing strategies to optimize revenue.
  • Utilize restaurant management systems and financial tools to track and achieve budgeted goals.
  • Effectively manage payroll, food and beverage costs, and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute action plans to address any shortfalls in revenue, cost control, or operational performance.
  • Ensure proper cash handling and adherence to company financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with daily, weekly, and monthly administrative and financial reporting requirements.

Health, Safety, & Compliance

  • Ensure the restaurant and bar operations adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, including licensing, food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments, addressing any potential hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records, ensuring adherence to company policies and health regulations.
  • Train and educate staff on safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to develop team members and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
  • Proactively address underperformance, providing guidance and training where necessary.
  • Collaborate with HR on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Manage scheduling, attendance, and leave requests to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support career development by identifying training opportunities and encouraging internal growth.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager or similar leadership role in a high-volume dining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant financial management, including budgeting, payroll, and cost control.
  • Experience leading and developing teams to deliver exceptional guest service and meet sales goals.
  • Familiarity with restaurant technology systems, including POS, inventory, and payroll management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of local health, safety, and liquor regulations.

  • Competitive Base Salary - $110k-$120k
  • Bonus potential up to 20%
