About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Scrum Master to join our team and drive the delivery of data engineering solutions for a Reinsurance client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and a proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups (DSUs), sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Facilitate product backlog grooming sessions, guiding the Product Owner (PO) and team on estimation and prioritization of user stories.
Work with the ART lead and RTE in drafting PI Plans, driving pre-planning iterations, facilitating PI planning events, and reviewing the final PI plan.
Monitor PI iterations and drive the team to focus on delivering PI objectives.
Communicate and collaborate with the ART and RTE to highlight key impediments.
Facilitate production deployments and track release cadence, including warranty support.
Continuously gather feedback and motivate the team to improve performance by fostering Agile principles and practices.
Encourage CI/CD and automation, focusing on the quality of deliverables, and facilitate the Scrum of Scrums (SoS) to collaborate with other teams.
Drive the adoption of automation practices.
Evaluate team skills and propose skill improvement plans.
Conduct business workshops and document business requirements, both functional and non-functional.
Collaborate with technical leads and architects to drive and document technical decisions, ensuring adherence to the technology roadmap.
Provide guidance and oversight in a Cloud-based Data Engineering architecture and landscape.
Report Agile metrics, such as velocity, sprint completion, and defect churn, to key stakeholders.
Set up and maintain Agile boards, product backlogs, and sprint boards using JIRA.
Qualifications:
8-10 years of experience as a Scrum Master, driving data engineering requirements using Scrum principles and practices.
3-5 years of experience in the Reinsurance domain is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with JIRA, including setting up and maintaining Agile boards, product backlogs, and sprint boards; creating JIRA dashboards; and using JQL for reporting.
Strong understanding and acumen of Cloud-based Data Engineering architecture and landscape.
Ability to run business workshops and documentation of business requirements, both functional and non-functional.
Experience in conducting team skill evaluations and driving improvement plans.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
