The Amazon Books team is seeking a Senior Policy Manager to join our Global Books Risk Policy team. Operating at the forefront of trust & safety in digital retail, our team shapes the future of Amazon's strategically important Books category. We ensure that Amazon's bookstore maintains high standards of trust while providing the best possible experience for millions of customers globally. Operating across different languages and countries, we navigate complex policy decisions that protect and enhance the future of digital and physical book retail.

Key job responsibilities
• Drive the development and evolution of Amazon's Global Books Risk Policies, ensuring a safe and trustworthy experience for our community
• Lead complex, high-impact policy initiatives with significant senior leadership visibility (VP/SVP level)
• Partner with Science and Engineering teams to develop and refine detection mechanisms and enforcement frameworks
• Manage sensitive policy calibrations and escalations, exercising strong judgment in time-sensitive situations
• Build consensus across multiple stakeholders including Legal, Public Relations, Public Policy, Engineering, and Business teams, developing broad exposure across Amazon's business units
• Conduct thorough policy research and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership
• Balance customer trust, author success, and platform integrity in policy decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Track record of successfully managing cross-functional initiatives
- Experience in trust & safety, content policy, risk management, or related fields
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with appropriate discretion and professionalism
