Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Solar Installation Technician to join our team in Syracuse, NY . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in solar PV installation and hold one of the following certifications:

• NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification
• IBEW-NECA Electrical Journeyman & Apprentice Training
• UL PV System Installer Certification

As a Solar Installation Technician , you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting residential and commercial solar energy systems. You will work closely with a team of project managers to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant installations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install solar panels, inverters, and mounting systems according to design specifications and safety standards.
• Perform electrical wiring and connections for PV systems, including conduit bending and terminations.
• Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and national electrical codes.
• Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Work at heights, on rooftops, and with various hand and power tools.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
• Maintain job site cleanliness, safety, and organization.
• Provide excellent customer service and answer client questions regarding their solar system.

Qualifications & Requirements:

One of the following certifications is required:

• NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification
• IBEW-NECA Electrical Journeyman & Apprentice Training
• UL PV System Installer Certification
• Previous experience in solar installation or electrical work is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PV systems, NEC codes, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders and roofs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
