OUR NEED

We are searching for a passionate and empathetic People Experience Specialist who will be the primary person to foster open communications and a positive inclusive work environment that embodies our core values of collaboration, leadership, stewardship, innovation, empowerment, and sustainability. As the People Experience Specialist, you will play a vital role in enriching the entire team member journey, from initial onboarding to continuous engagement. In collaboration with the rest of the People & Culture team, your primary objective will be to create a culture that provides unwavering support, motivation, and appreciation for our team members, through thoughtful and intentional programming and support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be the primary point of contact for—and provide critical support to—new team members, interns, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure a world-class onboarding experience for newly hired staff and interns. Additionally, you will execute the engagement plan throughout the onboarding journey, manage the end-to-end onboarding process, and ensure a smooth start for new hires into their roles.
  • You will collaboratively create and implement people engagement strategies and initiatives which promote distributed, remote workplace success through the use of staff intranet systems, staff-community relationship building activities, and frequent and thoughtful engagement opportunities for people at all levels and locations of the organization
  • You will participate in the investment of staff professional development and the learning of our mission by coordinating yearly staff visits to our international partners that promote upskilling, increased retention and strengthened international relationships as a key engagement and learning strategy
  • Ensures effective recognition programs are carried out and trained on to enhance the people experience at Plant With Purpose
  • You will facilitate the overall employee engagement survey cycle, including analyzing trends and metrics in partnership with the rest of the People & Culture team to proactively provide recommendations, identify trends, and implement programs.
  • You will work in partnership with the People Operations Team to develop and promote a holistic wellness strategy and program, that incorporates all dimensions of wellbeing, as a benefit and engagement tool
  • You will assist with administering Plant With Purpose's SEEDS performance development system, including co-leading training and sending reminders to staff to ensure high participation rates
  • You will administer and organize assorted HR data systems
  • You will represent the P&C Team on select inter-departmental initiatives
  • You will collaborate with the People & Culture department on other various intentional culture building and leadership development activities

WHAT WE'LL LOVE ABOUT YOU

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology/Development, or related field. Additional certifications or relevant training in employee engagement is a plus.
  • You have proven experience in driving the people experience and engagement plans with demonstrated understanding of staff needs and creating a positive inclusive work environment.
  • You strive to be an inclusive ambassador in your organization, regardless of your position, and actively equip others in your organization to cultivate an inclusive and equitable work environment.
  • You are empathetic and approachable, with a genuine desire to support staff in their growth and well-being.
  • You have a creative mindset with the ability to design engaging communications, programs, and initiatives that resonate with staff.
  • Experience with content creation and delivery, including email, intranet content, newsletters, website content, videos and presentations.
  • You have experience working with HR data and metrics from analytics to interpretation and visualization
  • You have lived overseas, and/or have worked in a cross-cultural context.
  • Project management skills and/or formal training a plus
  • A degree of informal event planning skills will be needed
  • High fluency with technology systems
